Architect – Single Family Residential
This is a unique opportunity for Residential Architects and Home Designers. We are a new startup company, founded by Architects, with a new web-based platform to sell single family house plans online. We are differentiating ourselves from “stock house plan” sites by recruiting qualified, talented architects and designers to provide designs and construction documents for innovative, quality architecture. While we will not impose stylistic limitations, we will insist on quality in terms of design and construction documents.
In a traditional architecture practice our efforts and talents are often under appreciated and our compensation from clients is often too low. We provide a platform that offers architects the opportunity to be fairly compensated for their efforts by selling their plans online to multiple clients. We offer the highest commission splits in the business: 30% to 40% higher than any other site.
Work can be part-time or full-time.
Applicants must know Autocad or Revit.
It is helpful, but not necessary to know a 3D modeling program (Sketchup, Revit, 3D Studio, etc) for presentation materials.
If you are an experienced residential architect or designer capable of designing single family homes and producing a complete set of Architectural Construction Documents, please call 415-230-0185.
Please DO NOT send a resume. Applicants will be screened in a phone interview prior to viewing portfolio images.

Architectural Digital Visualization Artist (Flatiron)
AJSNY is looking for someone who:
- is genuinely enthusiastic about digital visualization and architecture. Do you keep up with architectural design, CG software or high-end hardware on your own time? Do you have a portfolio online or do occasional freelance rendering work? Do you build your own workstations or renderboxes? These aren’t all requirements, but if you can honestly answer yes to any of them, you may be the kind of person we're looking for...
- knows their way around apps like 3DS Max, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Photoshop and After Effects and has a solid grasp of rendering fundamentals using engines like VRay, Mental Ray and Maxwell. 3DS and VRay are essential – the rest we can talk about…
- has at least a basic familiarity with or a strong interest in photography and video production. If you’ve got your own DSLR and shoot around Manhattan as a hobby, that’s a good sign…
- is motivated to improve their skills and performance every day on the job. If you like figuring things out for yourself but aren’t afraid to ask for help when you need it, can take ownership of a project without taking offense at client critiques and can meet difficult deadlines reliably, you may have what it takes to work with us...
- has an educational background in architecture, engineering or CG art, equivalent work experience, or the guts and determination to have figured an awful lot of this stuff out on their own. We’re less interested in where you went to school or what you studied than in what you’ve accomplished outside the classroom. Real-world performance is what counts, and if we interview you, we’ll be expecting you to show us what you can actually do...
- is willing and able to work crazy hours sometimes. We often deal with tight deadlines and clients who need mountains moved yesterday. We don’t pay overtime, but we’ll make it worth your while to go the extra mile through commensurate time off or bonus pay that relates directly to your performance…
If you think you're a good candidate and would like to join us, send an email introducing yourself and describing your qualifications and salary expectations to recruiting@ajsny.com. Attach a resume or provide a link to your website and be sure to put "CG ARTIST POSITION" in the subject line.

Revit Architecture Tutor (Los Osos)
I have 20 years drafting experience with AutoCAD and am in the process of transitioning over to Revit Architecture 2011. I've taken a Revit Beginner class and am familiar with the program, but am to the point where I need some additional tutoring on how to insert a Custom Detail Component into a project, creating a General Notes sheet in AutoCAD then importing it into Revit, why aren't my Line Weights printing properly? and other general questions.
I am hoping to find someone with Revit Architecture experience who can help me for a few hours now as I learn the program and possibly in the future as other questions arise.
